CQC Information we have now received the presentation for the event held on 5th July you can download here we also have a copy of the Somerset locations and their CQC relationship managers that you can download here practices can respond to their next phase of inspections until 8th August. after which we have a further event booked with the CQC team on the 26th September please book online
During the event presented to LMC members the CQC were asked why the Primary web tool could not be used in capture provider Information Collection (PIC) information, The CQC Response as follows - the annual provider information collection will be aligned with requests from other organisations to reduce duplication and the burden on providers. For example, we are working with the General Medical Council and NHS England to streamline and align our requests (including the Annual Electronic Declaration - eDEC). We will work with our regulatory partners to ensure that practices only need to provide a single description of their quality, based on the five key questions.
The key aspects are that CQC will only ask for information that is not collected elsewhere, we would like to provide assurance that we are working with NHSE to ensure that we do not duplicate the e-dec, which sits on the primary care web tool platform.
We are proposing (as the consultation is still live) that the PIC will mainly ask for qualitative information to determine changes in the quality of care. From a technical perspective this obviously differs from the yes/no format of the e-dec, and so we are looking to develop solutions that enable practices to submit a variety of different information.
Bogus Calls We have been alerted by a practice whose patient has received persistent phone calls from someone claiming to be from an admin team in the NHS asking for information, this occurs from time to time and practices may wish to add something to their information screens to alert patients.
Coding and summarising help: we have been made aware of an experienced summariser and coder that currently has some spare capacity, if there are any practices who have a backlog or need extra help please contact the LMC office for their details.
