You may have heard about Somerset Local Medical Committee or LMC and visited the website but do you know what it actually looks like or how it works? Likewise with the BMA – you may hear about the General Practitioner’s Committee or GPC but what does that mean to you? If you are interested in finding out more about us or becoming a member then please consider coming along as an observer to one of our committee meetings. Simply send an email to us at somersetlmc.office@nhs.net

These are some of the comments received:

How to Become an LMC Committee Member

Elections are held every four years under the terms of the LMC constitution, and all GPs are eligible for nomination and election. Sessional GPs i.e. those who are not Partners, may choose to stand in their geographical area, or for sessional seats. Should you wish to be considered for election please send your details to somersetlmc.office@nhs.net and visit our website
