NEWS/UPDATE BOARD - This and past updates can be found here
- Do you have nurse practitioners, paramedics, physiotherapists or clinical pharmacists working in your practice? If so this meeting will be very helpful. An Essential Update about First Contact Practitioners and Advanced Clinical Practice in primary care: This live on line webinar is going to take place on Thursday February 4th 2021, 1.00-2.30. An invitation to all GP employers, practice managers and PCN managers. The numbers of new role clinicians have increased a lot under ARRS and with the increase have come new national requirements re roles, training, supervision and support. The guidance runs to over 100 pages so this 1 1/2 hour webinar is a very good option.
- We are currently piloting the use of an internationally renowned chronic/persistent pain App called Curable. It could be a useful tool to use for patients in Somerset who have chronic pain but may not fit the referral criteria for Somerset Community Pain Management Service (SCPMS), or who decline referral to SCPMS. Chronic pain affects approximately 30% of adults in the UK; there is a good chance that many of us have this condition. If you would like to trial the App please contact Dr Jon Dolman who can provide further details. Email: jon.dolman@nhs.net
- Somerset CCG along with our provider of the National ‘Healthier You’ Diabetes Prevention Programme are holding monthly drop-in webinars for referrers to programme. The half hour sessions hosted on Microsoft Teams commence on Thursday 21st January at 12:30 and will provide any relevant updates to the programme, refreshers on referring, course content and an opportunity for referrers to ask questions. If you are interested in attending the webinar on Thursday 21st January please contact Georgie Clayton, the Diabetes Prevention Lead Officer on Georgina.clayton@nhs.net who will send you invite and add you to the mailing list for future webinars.
