SGPET/LMC EDUCATION NEWS/UPDATE BOARD 

• Fresh Looks 2023, Mon 20th Nov-Thurs 23 Nov, Taunton Racecourse - This course has always been mainly presentations from our local hospital consultants on updates in their subjects and the local application of those updates influenced by our circumstances in Somerset and this is its principal strength. We aim to bring GPs and primary health care colleagues together with Somerset consultants and improve communication, joint working and understanding of local issues in Somerset as well as learning about the cutting-edge advances in medicine.  Our full programme can be found here.

• Places still available - 18 Oct, Diabetes Study Day & Core Knowledge of Diabetes for HCA's, Health Coaches, Physiotherapists..

• New date added: Basic Life Support on 28th February at Taunton Racecourse

• Immunisation Training 2024, dates now available to book .  Multiple dates starting from Feb 2024, for Practice Nurses and HCA's

• Specialist Paramedic Placement Requests - Funded 

• Strengths Finder Workshop Development Opportunity: Wednesday 8th November 2023 – 9.30am – 12.00pm – online. This is a fantastic opportunity, funded through NHSE workforce, training and education. This session is ran by a Hannah Miller, a development coach, Sidekick (hellosidekick.co) . The Strengths Finder methodology is based on an Assets-Based approach which explores how we can harness individual strengths as part of a group or a team. Prior to the work shop there is an extensive 45 minute questionnaire to ascertain your key strengths and the workshop discusses the groups strengths. Consideration to join as a team is recommended. • Harnessing your Strengths in times of uncertainty - Monday 8th January 2024 – 09.30am - 12.00pm - online Led by Hannah Miller, this interactive session will give you a better understanding of your innate talents and capabilities, discovering how they can become powerful tools in uncertain times. During the workshop, you will identify your strengths, embrace change, build resilience, avoid burnout and create an action plan. Please book by 27/10/23 via regionaltraininghubs.sw@hee.nhs.uk
