HCA Immunisation Foundation Course (Part 1 & Part 2) 19th & 26th March, Places still available
- Leadership Education Opportunity for Lead Practice and PCN Nurses - Somerset Training Hub has funding available to support Lead Practice and PCN Nurses who are keen to develop their leadership ability and expand their skills to support the recruitment/retention of nurses within their practice/PCN. Practice Nurses aspiring to a leadership role can also apply for funds.
The suite of courses is available to choose from here. As well as providing funds to pay for the course fees in full, additional funds will be paid to cover some overtime or backfill costs. The total amount that will be reimbursed to the practice is included on the spreadsheet. Funds will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
The Request Form in should be completed in full (including practice bank account details) and submitted to somersetlmc.sth.office@nhs.net to request funding. Practices will be responsible for booking and paying for the courses requested. It is recommended to wait until funding is confirmed before booking the course. Practices must respond to a short questionnaire in 6-12 months regarding the use of the funds. Closing date for applications will be 30th April 2024 or earlier if all funds available are committed prior to this date.
EXTERNAL EVENTS/RESOURCES

Primary Care is often underappreciated for its core principles and efficacy. This one-day hybrid course (16th April or 14th May) offered by the University of Exeter seeks to address this gap by providing practical solutions and insights for healthcare professionals. Participants can attend either online or in-person at the University's St Luke's Campus. The curriculum includes interactive sessions, masterclasses, and panel discussions aimed at bridging the gap between theory and practice. Upon completion, attendees will not only have a better understanding of primary care but also gain insight into potential academic postgraduate studies in fields like education, public health, and leadership. Additionally, the course offers discounted rates for early registration. Target participants include a wide range of healthcare professionals, and managers.

South West Maternal Medicne Network - Maternal Medicine for Primary Care, 8th May via MS Teams Commissioned by NHS Somerset, biggerhouse film worked with a group of adults with learning disabilities from My Day Care Services to produce this film which looks at the often taboo subject of death and dying. Launch event Friday 26th April.

Somerset AHP Faculty (ICS) Occupational Therapy Networking and Peer Support - Wednesday 1st May 12-4pm at The Exchange, Bridgwater. Service Leads and Managers also very welcome. Discussions around HEI routes and speakers from South West Programmes will be available to discuss local options.
