SGPET/LMC EDUCATION NEWS/UPDATE BOARD
- SGPET Membership Levy 2024/2025 - Our New Membership Year will start again on 1st April 2024, This year providing we have a similar number of members we will be able to keep the cost the same at 15p per patient for our Membership year Apr24/Mar25. We would like to assume all current members will wish to continue being members, but if you choose to opt out please let us know by the 31st January 2024, we would then need to adjust the levy accordingly. Likewise if you're not a current member and would now like to join please let us know. If you would like to pay as a PCN, could you please notify us of this, again by 31 January and ensure you give us details of the Lead Practice so we can forward the correct details to the ICB. More details regarding Membership can be found here.
- Respiratory Training 2024 - We now have all the dates confirmed for this year’s Respiratory Training with David Long
- Asthma & COPD Update – 28th March
- Spirometry Basics – 4th April
- Asthma & COPD Basics – 9th May
- Asthma & COPD Basics – 26th September
- Spirometry Update – 7th November
- Latest Fully NHSE Funded First Contact Practitioner Courses The flyer here outlines the most up to date First Contact Practitioner (FCP) courses, encompassing both the taught and supported E-portfolio routes. You can access individual course pages by clicking on the respective Higher Education Institute (HEI) name. To enrol, apply directly to the relevant university. Applicants will undergo a Learning Needs Analysis and be advised on the suitability of either the taught or e-supported portfolio route. Once accepted into the program, the HEI will facilitate the funding claim process directly with NHS England. From April the unsupported portfolio route will be withdrawn by NHS England and the above routes will be the only way to complete the FCP Roadmap to Practice. Live Well with Pain Newsletter - Supporting people through persistent pain and empowering them to feel more in control of their pain, can be challenging. Lived, shared experience is one of the most important ways to do this, through a personalised approach. In Somerset there is increasing activity to develop pain cafés, to enable this. Somerset's Sue Crisfield is pioneering this in one of our PCNs. Sue is also helping shape a national approach as she works alongside the livewellwithpain team.
