• Retirement Celebration - You will no doubt have heard that Dr Martyn Hughes retired from his role as Clinical Lead for Somerset Training Hub at the end of January 2022, after a long and distinguished career in primary care partnership and education and Training .

  We are holding a celebration for Martyn at Taunton Race Course (Paddock Room) on Friday 29 April between 6.30pm and 9.30pm. There will be fizz and food, so please do drop in or spend the evening and celebrate with Martyn and other colleagues. Please contact the office at lmc.office@nhs.net if you wish to attend.

  This link  will open an e-card if you would like to send a message to Martyn, if you know someone who would like to sign the card please forward onto them. If you would like to contribute towards a gift for Martyn please contact Mandy at the LMC on amason1@nhs.net .

• Additional training webinars for GPs/ primary care on the use of the Rad-G with Temperature paediatric pulse oximeters - Due to demand, Masimo are running additional 30-minute webinars in March to provide training and information about the devices. Flyer and booking info

  A link is also available to a recording of one of the training sessions and can be found on the NHS Futures page NHS @home FutureNHS platform.

• The Somerset Safeguarding Adults Board is offering a FREE webinar from 12:30 to 13:30 on 17/03/2022 focusing on Professional Curiosity .

• Som CCG are running Fit test training at the end of the month Monday, March 28 to Friday, April 1 in conjunction with YDH Academy, which will take place in Wynford House, Yeovil.   If any colleagues are interested in attending, please contact somccg.infectionpreventioncontrolteam@nhs.net  Please see further information here and let us know your preferred booking times. We will do our best to accommodate your requests but obviously this does depend on availability as numbers will be limited.

• New and updated online resources are now available to NHS England staff via NHS OpenAthens, including:  Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines in Psychiatry,  Royal Marsden 10th Edition,  Some new sustainability book titles have been added to the national Kortext ebook collection,  Over 70 titles in the Oxford Handbook series via the Oxford Medicine Online collection.  If you would like help accessing the new resources (or anything else evidence, library and information related), please contact Paula Younger, Knowledge and Evidence Specialist (Primary and Integrated Care), at paula.younger@somersetft.nhs.uk OR paula.younger1@nhs.net or tel: 07741 084039.
