Childrens Safeguarding ICON Training - Somerset is shortly to roll out ICON which is a programme to help parents cope with crying in infants. The aim of the programme is to encourage parents to use safe methods to manage crying to prevent abuse to children, in particular abusive head trauma due to shaking. To make this work everyone needs to share the message and so we would encourage each practice to send a representative to this training and then cascade down to other colleagues. This can also count towards your children’s safeguarding training.

Student Nurses & Training Nursing Associate Placements in Practice or PCNs: There is a one off placement incentive payment available for GP practices or PCNs who commit and sign up to offering Student Nurses and Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA) placements in 2022. Please complete the survey here if you will support student nurse and TNA placements going forward.
