Ukraine refugees guidance
New patient health questionnaires (Ukraine and Russian translations) now available - 13 October 2022
GP practices can now download new patient health questionnaires with bi-lingual English/Ukrainian and English/Russian translations for people arriving in the UK from Ukraine, supporting assessment and management of their initial health needs at the point of GP registration. The questionnaires have been developed with Doctors of the World UK.
Friends and Family Test
Translated versions of the ‘Friends and Family test’ are now available in Russian and Ukrainian.
Ukrainian Migrant Health Check Clinics
Two further Migrant Health Check clinics are being piloted at Yeovil Health Centre on 02 and 16 July 2022 and referrals from primary care are now being accepted for both clinics. An EMIS web template referral form is also available.
The Migrant Health Check should be delivered in addition to a new patient consultation. People fleeing the conflict in Ukraine may have a range of health requirements that need to be assessed and managed as soon as possible after their arrival. The UK Health Security Agency has issued guidance for Primary Care that can be found at UKHSA arrivals from Ukraine guidance for primary care | PHE/DH/DWP guideline | Guidelines
When referring Ukrainian patients to the health check clinics please ensure they are aware of the purpose of the assessment and that the clinics are currently being run at Yeovil Health Centre which is centrally situated in Middle Street Yeovil over the large branch of Boots the Chemist. Practices should ensure patients are happy to attend the Saturday appointment and aware of its location. Clinics at other venues across Somerset are currently being planned to improve accessibility to this service. 20 June 2022
NHSE have published a letter and two service specifications setting out expectations and support around GP registration and the management of the initial health needs for individuals and families coming to England fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.
There is now a bilingual versions of the GMS1 form which are now available on the DHSC website. 14 June 2022
