We have an exceptional opportunity within our innovative GMS practice in Stoke Sub Hamdon for a GP seeking Clinical Leadership opportunities. We are a small practice looking to succession plan around practice clinical leadership and are able to support the successful candidate in developing their skills with a view to becoming the practice Clinical Lead in the future. Alternatively, there is the opportunity for a candidate with the requisite skills and experience to become the practice Clinical Lead as soon as they are settled into the practice team.

The practice Clinical Lead works with the Practice Manager to develop the clinical workforce and manage the clinical services provided by the practice team. Symphony have an established Clinical Leads Forum, where best practice and advice is shared across our 22 practices.

Hamdon's practice list is about 6,000 patients, so small enough for you to know our patients well and provide continuity of care, but were also part of Symphony, the largest provider of NHS GP services in Somerset, so benefit from the experience and learning across a network of 22 GMS and PMS practices.

Stoke Sub Hamdon is situated 5 miles west of Yeovil and is nestled under Ham Hill Country Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village is just a 30 minute drive away from the coast. Stoke Sub Hamdon has a small town community feel with lovely local village schools and excellent private and state schools in close proximity.

Main duties of the job

You would undertake all the clinical duties associated with being a GP working in primary care, without the responsibilities and risks associated with being a partner.

All our GPs are paid as Employees, unlike Partners, which means less risk for you and more time to focus on patient care. We put patients first, with our Employed and Consultant GPs working flexibly according to need, so contributing to areas such as QOF, QI, training and research projects providing a huge amount of variety to the role.

About us

Symphony Healthcare Services was established in 2016 as part of the award-winning Symphony Programme Vanguard, developing new models of care. We support 22 practices across Somerset and Devon, providing care for 133,000 patients.

Symphony has developed a model where each practice is encouraged to operate autonomously, but as a subsidiary of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and with the backing and economies of scale from a central support team.

Our vision is to ensure that primary care is sustainable for patients and practices in Somerset, and we aim to be a national exemplar for primary care provision. We work closely with our practice teams to support, develop and transform patient care and working practices with innovation and technology at the heart of what we do.
