PCP Meetings, Following on from Dr Bridget Carne's excellent work we are pleased to say Alex Milliner (Primary Care Practitioner) and Jo Taylor (Nurse Practitioner) have joined SGPET to facilitate and continue with these meetings, the first date is Thurs 21 Sept 19.00-21.00 via MS Teams with the topic 'Frailty in the Community - A Case Study Approach' - places are still available, book here.

FCP Roadmap - Paramedics and Physiotherapists - UPDATED GUIDELINES: The Primary Care Academy have produced up to date and comprehensive guidelines incorporating recent verification changes for clinicians who have completed or need to complete the NHSE Roadmap. If your practice employs Paramedics or Physios (through ARRS or directly) in a First Contact role, then the documents, SW PCA FCP Updates Sep 2023 and What do the FCP changes mean for employers and training hubs, will be useful for understanding the Roadmap requirements and linking to available FUNDED FCP Masters module courses. If you have further questions please do get in touch with the FCP Supervision Fellows or Advanced Practice/Paramedic Lead ( Elizabeth Oxley , Jodie Smith - Supervision Fellows & Catherine Hayden - Paramedic Ambassador)

Introduction to genomics in primary care. The South West Genomic Medicine Service Alliance invites all primary care staff to a free half day, virtual session, on Tuesday 5th December 2023, at 9.30am - 12.30pm. The programme will provide answers to these questions:
-What is genomics and how does it apply to you and your patients?
-What is the National Genomic Test Directory and what is available?
-Which genomic conditions might you see in primary care?
-What resources and support is available

To celebrate this, the Personalised Care Institute (PCI) are running a four-day ‘roadshow’ of webinars, videos and educational activities showcasing best practice examples, lived experience and education on personalised care, as well as a free headline half day virtual conference.
