Update from Dr Ian Boyland SGPET Vice Chair - Dear Colleagues - We are pleased to welcome Anne-Marie Young to our education committee. Anne-Marie is an advanced nurse practitioner who has worked with SGPET for a couple of years helping to organise and deliver education events. She has now joined our team to help us to continue to provide education for our increasingly diverse primary care team.
Just a quick reminder about some upcoming study days and something new. The Frailty Study Day is on the 21st June at Taunton Racecourse and is a tour of all aspects that influence our medical management of our most complicated patients. It is suitable for anyone clinical involved in their care. There is also the Dermatology Study Day on the 12th July at Taunton Racecourse. Local GP and consultant colleagues will be giving a comprehensive overview of common skin complaints and those that are slightly more tricky!
(New) Practical Magic - MSK Injections 6th July . Thank you to everyone who responded to our survey. Following on from this we are going to be putting on a series of quarterly sessions looking at practical skills. The first is being supported by the Orthopaedic Team at YDH who are running a session on joint injections- the theoretical knowledge of who to inject, techniques and then practising on models. This is suitable for people who want to learn in joint injections and those who want a refresh and demonstrate learning for their appraisal. Because of the practical nature and for everyone to gain good experience places are limited to 20. Its on the 6th July at Lanes Hotel West Coker, just outside Yeovil starting at 4.30pm and running into the evening including a meal. We will be announcing further practical skills sessions for the next calendar year so please keep a look out.
