£15.50 - £18.50+ per hour, dependent upon experience
About the Role
Due to Glastonbury Health Centre’s continued growth, an opportunity for a Treatment Room/Practice Nurse has arisen to join the established Nursing team. You will provide high-quality nursing care to our patient population working in partnership with our multidisciplinary team. You will help us to make continuous improvement to nursing led services within the practice and introduce new services and best practice. You will support patients in the management of acute and long-term conditions and participate in health promotion activities to assist patients in improving their health outcomes. Our Practice Nursing team are highly valued, trusted and respected amongst our staff and patients alike, you will be expected to uphold this reputation and display a compassionate approach by putting the patient at the forefront of everything you do.
Main Duties include
- Able to perform venous blood sampling collection to organisational and health and safety standard
- Performing blood pressure checks, including fitting 24hr blood pressure monitors – fitting, removal and completing referrals where required
- Nurse duties, including but not limited to; pulse and temperature checks, recording patient height and weight, urinalysis, ECG recording, ear checks and syringing, management of Asthma Spirometruy and FeNo
- Requesting, processing and management of laboratory samples
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
- Training opportunities are available if you do not have all of the above skills, this role is also suitable for newly qualified nurses / trainee nurse associates looking for a route into Primary Care.

Glastonbury Health Centre is a practice with approximately 6000 patients, we currently have two partners, one salaried GP and 2 advanced nurse practitioners.

Our aim is to provide people and solutions to support local Primary Care; re-investing any surplus into services that benefit the people of Somerset. To date we have created a bank of vaccination staff for the Covid-19 programme and delivered 1000’s of vaccines to housebound patients and within vaccination centres. We have been awarded the GP flexible pool contract from the Somerset ICB, to recruit GPs to work with and support GP practices.
