Somerset LMC and Somerset Training Hub want to help you find the right person.

Our popular GP recruitment events give practices the chance to talk to a number of GP Trainees and GPs all in one session. Running them via Zoom has made involvement easier for practices and widened the pool of potential attendees. We are using a combination of social media communications and national adverts to invite GPs and GP Trainees from across the county and beyond to the event on Wednesday 12th May.
What you have to do so that your practice can be involved:
Book your practice a place, see below, to receive Event Pack* online
By 30th April submit an advert and optional short video to sarah.johns@nhs.net at the LMC.
GPs and GP Trainees registered for the event will receive details of all practice vacancies at the beginning of May and be able to decide which practices they want to meet live online on 12th May.
On Wednesday 12th May your practice will be able to have a live online video conversation with any individual GP or GP Trainee who is interested in finding out more about your practice and vacancy.
Sessions will run from 14.15 at 10 minute intervals.
Each session starts with a short meeting to explain the process and help ensure things go smoothly.
Conversations between practices and interested GPs/GP Trainees will run from 14.15 at 10 minute intervals.
Each 10 minute appointment allows for an 8 minute conversation between practice representative/s and individual GP or GP Trainee and for smooth change over.
Conversations will be by pre-booked appointment.
No limit on how many practices any GP or GP Trainee can speak to.
Practices can run more than one conversation at the same time to increase appointment availability if required.
When making appointment for conversation GPs and GP Trainees will be invited to supply each practice with details about themselves ahead of the event.
After the event GPs, GP Trainee and practices will progress shared interest under their own steam and with continuing advice and support from Somerset LMC and Training Hub as required.

- Advert requirements ( maximum single page A4)
- Advice re making and sharing optional short video about the practice and vacancy
- Details of what information is being sent to GPs and GP Trainees registering for the event
- Summary of how national and local GP recruitment measures can help you
- Tips on successful online applications and interviews
Somerset Practices: all you need to do now is book your place below and then submit a job advert and an optional short video. (If the event becomes fully booked please book onto the waiting list and we will be in touch about setting up a second session to start from 4pm on 12th May).
