Somerset Training Hub are looking for expressions of interest from newly qualified GPs for a 1-year role of “Near-Peer GP Fellow for International Medical Graduates (IMG)”. The role will be two sessions per week over a 12-month period. The Near-Peer GP Fellow will work with Somerset VTS to offer near-peer support for doctors in training, with a focus on supporting international medical graduates and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda. Requirements for the post include:
-Recent/newly qualified
-recent experience of UK GP training
-an interest in education to further develop skills
Lived experience or understanding of being an international medical graduate would be desirable. For full details of the post, and how to apply, please click here.

Free Educational All Day Orthopaedic Event – 3 November 2022 at Haynes Motor Museum Yeovil Hospital are delighted to invite GP’s to a free educational event on Thursday 3 November from 9 am until 5 pm. This will be hosted by Yeovil Hospital’s Orthopaedic Consultants. Mr Pradheep Madhavan, Consultant Spinal Surgeon from Somerset Foundation Trust will also be joining them to give a spinal update.
