Somerset LMC Studyday the next steps
Dear Colleagues
Thank you very much to all of you who attended the Study Day which seems to have been extremely well received. It was very pleasing to see every one so engaged with what we are trying to do - encourage Practices to look at different ways of working together and taking control of these changes, moving in the direction that Practices want rather than what we are feeling directed to do. There was a real desire to move on quickly with this and a sense of unity amongst Practices across the County and it was good to this return.
A summary of the day will be sent out to all practices next week the next steps will be for the LMC to collate the responses to the questions asked in the group work from those present and produce a position paper proposing a Somerset Model of General Practice for the future to be shared with all. There was a suggestion - that was largely supported - that we organise an expert panel to support Federations through the changes that are happening in the future and the LMC will move this idea on quickly.
