GP Maternity Cover – Brunel Medical Centre

We are looking for a sessional GP to provide maternity cover for one of our GPs based in Babbacombe.
Her current working days are Monday Thursday Friday but we could be flexible with this.
The duration of the cover will be for 1 year.
We would consider dividing this cover into smaller durations if there was a demand for this.
We would welcome all newly qualified registrars to consider this as an option as it may be a suitable way to have a period of regular work in one surgery.
This is likely to commence in June 2019 but we would also consider the start time to coincide with the end of Registrar training.
We are a team of 10 GPs supported by Paramedics, Specialist nurses, Pharmacist team and 6 Practice nurses and 5 HCAs.
We have a list size of over 16000 patients over 3 sites in Babbacombe, St Marychurch and Shiphay.
We host GP registrars, Paramedic, Nursing, Pharmacist and Medical students and will provide a supportive environment for all our staff with an assigned mentor.
We have two GP trainers at Brunel and would strive to offer a newly qualified GP the support they would require in making the transition from Registrar to Sessional GP.
There would also be an opportunity to consider the transition to salaried or partnership from this opportunity of sessional cover as there is a future retirement of a GP partner in 2020
On a day to day basis a sessional doctor would expect to see 15 patients per session with personal templates to suit their own consultation styles (eg 15 min appointments)
Home visits will be managed mainly by a home visiting team and duty doctor supported by our paramedic so would be kept to a minimum.
We could be flexible with days and sessions and start times if required.
Paperwork and script work would also be kept to a minimum.
