Why should you work at Langport Surgery?

People enjoy working here. We know that because that’s what they tell us, and it is very rare for staff to leave unless they are retiring. They tell us they feel well supported by the partners and they feel able to contribute to the running of the practice and their opinions are valued. We can offer a mentor and clinicians regularly discuss cases together.

We are well regarded in the community our patients appreciate the service we provide. We receive a plentiful supply of feedback from patients to endorse this and we have an active Patient Participation Group. We have an effective appointments system that means patients can book an appointment to see someone on the day if they need to. We don’t do routine telephone triage.

We have coffee together. We all have a sense of humour and we share the same underpinning values to deliver a professional and safe service to our population of patients.

We are committed to developing and improving quality. We have a strong focus on training and development and we equip our team with the skills and knowledge to be successful. We develop trainee doctors & physician associates and we have an ‘excellent’ rating for doing so.

Langport is a beautiful place with a good old fashioned community feel. There are some wonderful lunchtime walks along the river and through the town. Staff often go for walks (or runs) together at lunchtime across the Somerset levels.

Langport Surgery is a large, stable and happy team of 53 people. There are 5 Partners who have worked together for the last 10 years. We have Nurse Practitioners and an ECP working alongside the GPs as well as a highly skilled Nursing and HCA team plus Dispensary, Reception and Admin teams.

We embrace technology and will shortly be offering E-Consult. We use text messaging platforms and encourage patients to use Patient Online Access. We work with other local practices and are an active part of CLICK Federation with access to shared services such as visiting ECPs and a Pharmacist.

We would welcome any interested candidates to come to the surgery for an informal look around and to meet some of the staff and Partners. To arrange this, or for any further information please contact the Practice Manager, Sarah Poyntz-Wright, sarah.poyntz-wright@nhs.net.
