West Mendip Primary Care Network are seeking two Apprentice Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians to improve the quality and safety of care delivered to patients across its practices and in partnership organisations.

This is a new and exciting opportunity to undertake a formal professional qualification whilst learning on the job. The apprenticeship will consist of a programme of study days and on the job training. You will rotate around various areas of pharmacy, such as dispensary. You will spend at least 40% of the 2 year programme on placement in the GP practices supporting the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A further 40% will be in a partner pharmacy (Touts) and 10% will be study. You will be required to travel for this role, usually either at the pharmacy all day or based in one or more GP practices.

To be considered, you must hold a minimum of four GCSE's at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification) in English, Mathematics and Science subjects.

As part of the selection process, candidates shortlisted for interview may be required to sit a functional skills assessment in numeracy and literacy.

You must be able to work accurately, communicate effectively and be confident to move between teams regularly.  An interest in the pharmacy profession is key.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will be a qualified Pharmacy Technician, and will be able to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
