Education Facilitator Somerset Training Hub - Part time 24 hours per week - Fixed Term 2 years with view to extension (part home/part office based)
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Clinical Practitioner interested in gaining experience in the field of professional education and development of staff in Primary Care.
We are seeking an experienced clinical practitioner/practice nurse to join the Somerset Training Hub to support the training, education and development of all non-medical staff working in primary and community care across Somerset.
You will work closely with the Training Hub Director and Lead Nurse /Advisor as well as other members of the Training Hub, Somerset GP Education Trust (SGPET) and LMC Executive Teams.
You will have the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively at all levels. You will be required to work autonomously and as part of a team.
The Core functions of the Training Hub are:
- Develop and expand capacity of high quality learning placements
- Support better understanding of local workforce planning needs and how these might be realised across the whole of the Somerset Integrated Care System (ICS)
- Support the development and realisation of educational programmes to develop the primary and community care workforce at scale to address identified population health needs or support service re-design and delivery of integrated care
- Coordination of education and training placements
- Support improving educational quality and governance
- Enable, support and embed ‘new roles’ within primary care
- Support for recruitment and retention of the primary care workforce
- Active role in promoting primary care as a career aspiration
Role and Responsibilities:
Your main objective will be to support the expansion of student and learner placement capacity across practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs), to assist in the development and sustainability of quality practice learning environments for learners undertaking studies, apprenticeships, and work based training. This will include nursing, physician associates, primary care practitioners, health coaches, pharmacists and other new roles emerging as the primary care workforce develops. You will also be responsible for the coordination, recruitment and placements of General Practice trainee Nursing Associates (NAs).
Key outputs will include an increase in the number of non-medical student and learner placements in primary and community care settings and an increase in the number of apprenticeships in practices and PCNs.
