Medical Secretary Vacancy – Lister House Surgery

Are you an experienced Medical Secretary looking for a varied and fast-paced role within Primary Care?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the friendly and supportive team at Lister House Surgery, Wiveliscombe, part of the Primary Care Directorate.

What is the Primary Care Directorate? It is a group of GP practices who have become part of one of the local Foundation Trusts. With the merger of the Trusts – Somerset Partnership and Taunton and Somerset - these practices have come together to form the Primary Care Directorate.

The opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced individual who could provide general secretarial support to the doctors and health professionals and management team, involving digital dictation, e-referrals and audio typing skills. The role will also include administrative functions such as notes summarising and coding, dealing with electronic documents and associated work that contributes towards the practice meeting key targets.

16-20 hours are available at Lister House Surgery, Wiveliscombe, Somerset, to include working Thursday and Fridays with some flexibility  to provide additional cover for holidays/absences. Band 3 AfC terms apply.

The person: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who enjoy patient contact, as well as working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment to support us in the delivery of a quality service.

You will be required to be flexible, motivated and highly organised with the ability to manage own case load.

If you have previous experience of working within a GP practice or feel you have transferrable skills from a similar secretarial role within a healthcare setting, we would be interested in hearing from you.

The Role: Primary Care is a challenging and varied place to work, but this is what makes the role so rewarding. This is an interesting job and you would have the opportunity to work with our existing practice team, receiving a high level of support and training/development opportunities available through the Directorate and as part of being a Trust managed practice.
