Could you be our new GP?
Millbrook Surgery is an innovative practice providing team based patient care to a rural community based around the beautiful Somerset town of Castle Cary. Despite the pressures on General Practice we have been able to stay ahead of the curve by continuously improving our services and looking at new ways to work smarter, this has seen us make some bold changes to stay ahead. With such a positive team, embracing innovation and evolving new projects to fit the need of our local community, our patients are able to enjoy a personal, friendly service with easy access to the whole team.
The success of GP Access and Enhanced Primary Care has delivered efficiencies to the practice and impacted very positively on the quality of working life of the team, which is reflected in the relaxed and cheerful atmosphere at the practice. We have a vibrant culture and our team work in partnership to ensure positive experiences for our patients and fellow healthcare professionals alike. Castle Cary
Castle Cary is a small historic market town in South Somerset.
The town boasts a couple of pubs, a museum, many independent shops and galleries plus restaurants and takeaways. Mostly built in golden ham stone the town centre has an attractive Market House and cobbled area at its heart. There is a range of housing of all types in the town with some newer developments on the outskirts.
Community spirit is strong with lots of clubs and societies, a couple of churches and community meeting halls and spaces of varying sizes.
There are two schools in the town with nearby colleges and a range of independent schools in nearby Bruton.
There are excellent transport links via rail (a railway station on the outskirts of the town on the London, Paddington – West Country and Weymouth – Bristol main lines) and road with the A303 only a few miles away.
At the heart of Somerset cider and cheddar cheese producing areas there are many award winning farms and dairies close by; not to mention the NT property and gardens at Stourhead, Glastonbury Tor, Wells and very close by the newly opened Newt in Somerset. Bath and Bristol are within 1 hour by car.
