LEAD PRACTICE NURSE
(30 HOURS PER WEEK – 0.8 WTE)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Practice Nurse to join Penn Hill Surgery in Yeovil. We are a high achieving PMS practice based in Yeovil town centre and working from purpose built premises. The practice is also forward thinking and is closely engaged with four other Yeovil practices as part of the Yeovil Primary Care Network. We have almost 10,000 patients.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, dynamic Practice Nurse to lead and manage our friendly nursing team. The post is for 30 hours per week.
The ideal candidates will have recent experience within a Primary Care Setting, be adaptable, highly motivated, relish a challenge and want to develop an ongoing career in Primary Care. You will be working alongside 4 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 GP registrar and 3 advanced nurse practitioners. You will lead a nursing team of 4 other experienced Practice Nurses and 4 HCAs, who together cover a whole range of practice nursing duties.
The post holder will provide a professional service performing all relevant forms of nursing care without direct supervision and providing support to the GPs. A relevant diploma in at least one area of chronic disease management is desirable. You will also be expected to take an active part in our weekly MDT and clinical meetings, assist with clinical audits; assist in achieving QOF targets and ensure that administrative tasks associated with clinical duties are complete.
Salary is negotiable dependent on experience.
