GP Fellowship - Somerset and Exmoor National Park

Exciting innovative opportunity open to GPs at all stages in their careers. Commencing early 2020

Core elements:

1.  Clinical sessions - four to six sessions per week as a salaried GP at Exmoor Medical Centre Dulverton.

2.  Fellowship sessions - two paid sessions a week to focus on an education and development project organised by Somerset Training Hub

3.  Personal development support & opportunities - development package tailored to the learning needs of the Fellow

4.  The Fellowship is initially for 12 months. There will be ongoing opportunities in the practice and at the Training Hub

Situated in a modern, purpose-built surgery in the picturesque village of Dulverton nestled in the stunning Exmoor National Park, Exmoor Medical Centre is a GP Training and dispensing practice with 4,000 patients.

You will be working as a part of a friendly, progressive team. The practice is successful and highly respected; this is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and elite team with a high standard of patient care as our utmost priority. The practice has an established system of meetings and education and makes sure that everyone has a positive work-life balance. Somerset Training Hub supports the new multi-disciplinary primary care workforce through education and workforce development. It works closely with Somerset GP Education Trust, Somerset LMC and is supported by Health Education England South-West. This Fellowship is aimed at supporting the development of multi-disciplinary educational programmes within the new Primary Care Networks. You will receive support and mentorship as a new GP from the practice and as a GP Fellow you will be part of Somerset Training Hub, be fully supported by the STH team and benefit from appropriate supervision and from contact with other Fellows in Somerset and across the south-west. The Fellowship education and training allowance will support your personal development in education, leadership and change management as required.

Remuneration will be according to GP Educator Salary scales GP00-GP02 £85,955 to £92, 518 pro-rata, i.e. £8,595.50 to £9, 251.80 per session depending on experience. You will also receive up to £5,000 to support relevant post-graduate study and development. Both practice and Training Hub elements of the post can be flexible.
