RECEPTION MANAGER

Springmead Surgery are looking for a Part time Reception Manager to support the day to day running of our busy reception area and help manage our internal IT needs.

The Practice:

We are a long established GP practice in the town of Chard with approximately 6000 patients. We have 2 GP partners as well as salaried GPs, a skilled nursing team and a supportive admin and reception team.

We are looking for someone experienced in leading a team. This role will support the practice management with the day to day running of the reception team and areas. The ideal candidate will be confident with technology, have first class IT skills and broad administration experience. It isn’t essential to have worked in healthcare; however this experience would be advantageous.

You absolutely must be a people person and able to communicate effectively with staff and patients. We are looking for a team player, who is flexible in working to the needs of the business by prioritizing workload and using initiative.

There will be a requirement to support the team with covering reception duties during periods of Annual Leave and Absence as well as being the first port of call for any queries.

You will assist the Operations Manager in improving the efficiency and performance of the team performance and ensure a structure suitable to the practice need is met.

What we need from you:

To be passionate about making a difference and enthusiastic about implementing change.

Experience in leading a team along with the ability to install and monitor efficient working practices.

Good communication and organizational skills

Experience within an NHS setting would be an advantage – our reception team uses EMIS

Excellent IT skills including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel

Previous reception and/or administration experience

Excellent telephone manner and ability to demonstrate excellent customer service

Open, Professional and friendly communication style

Ability to ensure strict confidentiality

Able to multi task in a busy environment

Flexibility

Ability to assist with rotas, cover requirements, overtime and annual leave
