Exciting News for would-be GP trainees considering training in the West Country
Somerset GP training scheme are happy to announce two new initiatives which will be available at this years round of recruitment – February 2017.
Thanks to increased funding via TERS (targeted enhanced recruitment scheme) many (17) of our rotations will attract additional payments of up to £20,000 over the three years. Successful applicants will be able to see which rotations attract this additional funding on the Severn Deanery website once they have completed the first stages of recruitment.
In addition there will be up to 10 ‘hybrid’ rotations on offer this year – during the 3-year training scheme successful applicants to Somerset will be offered the opportunity to spend one year in the Bristol area and vice versa for Bristol applicants, thereby gaining a chance to experience teaching and practice in both areas.
As the next round of recruitment is nearly upon us, we feel it is important that these initiatives are more widely known so that no-one misses out.
