GP Portfolio Role at T&S trust and in General Practice (from Dr Andrea Trill) Many of you will have seen the new GP Portfolio role advertised on the Somerset GP website and attached to an LMC newsletter in December. These are roles for GPs who are looking for a post working in Musgrove Park Hospital as well as in General Practice and I am delighted to say they have created interest and enthusiasm.
I have had several GPs approach me and I am now looking to put together a list of GP practices who might be interested in having a part-time salaried doctor. The plan is to provide a list of interested practices for the GPs, so they can arrange to visit and find a suitable placement.
If you think you would like to be included on this list, please could you let me know and I will be able to share your details. Thank you andrea.trill@tst.nhs.uk Medical Director Integrated and Community Care
Dr Harry Yoxall LMC Medical Director retirement As many of you are aware Harry is retiring from his LMC role at the end of this month, if you have not booked to join us on the evening of the 21st February at Taunton Racecourse there is still time to let the office know, full detail here
Removal of Pathway Navigator Application As practices are aware the Pathway Navigator Application is not being maintained and updated. The pathway content has been reviewed and updated as electronic Decision Aid and Support (eDAS) Guidance. These have been available for 18 months via the eTemplates website ( http://etemplates.somersetccg.nhs.uk ) alongside the EMIS Smart Referral Forms. You can sign up to receive a RSS Feed updates when new content is available. This guide demonstrates how to download and import the EMIS Smart Referral Forms.
The CCG will be commissioning SCW CSU to remove Pathway Navigator App from Somerset Practices to avoid out of date information and referral forms being used.
There are still plans to develop the functionality of pathways further by allowing practices to incorporate them into their EMIS system with accompanying Readcode triggers. Unfortunately, this is predicated upon the availability of EMIS Resource Publisher. The latest information from EMIS is that they are still ironing out ‘bugs’ with this software and further rollout is expected in 2018.
