Significant event - NHS SBS We have been asked by NHS England to pass on the attached message which was sent to NHS England Heads of Primary Care last week, and to remind practices of the importance in responding to allow NHS England to establish ‘no impact’ or ‘patient harm detected’. – to date, only 40% of practices have responded nationally, the original information on process and payments were shared with practices on the 13th December details here
SWOT analysis as part of the ongoing support for practices Porter Dodson have designed and tested a generic SWOT analysis which can be downloaded here it will also be available on the provider support area of the website
CQRS and Prevalence (SPQS) CQRS have confirmed that the calculation they use for prevalence for QoF is on the full register and that the description on the reports is misleading, so for SPQS for instance it is not counting the depression reviews, therefore the review code for depression doesn't need to be added for SPQS practices as they are taking the full register, everything else is as described in the guide circulated on the update last week.
Indemnity Payment Briefing note As part of the 2017/18 GP contract agreement, it was agreed that £30m would be paid to practices to cover 2016/17 rises in indemnity insurance costs for all doctors delivering GMS work. This amount has been based on average rises in costs using figures received from surveyed GPs and medical indemnity organisations. This will be paid to practices on a per patient basis, set out under the Statement of Financial Entitlements (SFE), and will not be weighted as a result of the Carr-Hill formula. This funding is intended to cover the average rise in indemnity cover costs. read the full briefing here
