SGPET/LMC EDUCATION NEWS/UPDATE BOARD
- Update from Dr Ian Boyland (SGPET Vice Chair) - Hi everyone. You may have noticed that the SGPET study days are increasingly popular and are now often fully booked. Having spoken to our colleagues at the racecourse we are going to be able to increase capacity of our study days to allow more people to join. This means that we may have to have more seats and less tables if the numbers are high. This also means that we will not need a waiting list however we will need to close booking a week before the study to allow planning.
Can we please request that if you haven’t had a confirmation email for your booking please contact the SGPET office to check it has been made. If you haven’t had the email, you’re unlikely to be booked on to the study day. We are unable to allow anyone to attend who isn’t booked a week in advance or turns up on the day.
Non-medical Prescribers Study Day, 6th November - The non-medical prescribers day is for those who are currently prescribers, doing their course or about to start on it. Please see draft agenda here. The day has proved very popular previously being fully booked but we have now been able to increase capacity. If you would still like to attend please book via the website this week.
South Somerset Education Group - We still have spaces available on the 27th November at the Prince of Wales on Ham Hill or via MS Teams. Su Down will be discussing the important points when prescribing SGLT2s and GLP1s.
Fresh Looks 18-21 Nov- The full fresh looks agenda is now here and on the SGPET website. As usual it is very popular because nearly every area of clinical knowledge is covered by our local experts. Places are going quickly so if you are planning on attending please book soon.
- Student Nursing Associate Apprenticeships: We are seeking applicants from General Practice to join the Local Somerset Programme April 2025 cohort of Student Nursing Associate (SNA) Apprenticeships. Closing date for applications is 8th November 2024. See the advert here and further details here.
