• South Somerset Primary Care Evening Meeting: "Lessons learned from the diabetes recovery programme. How to improve the care of people with diabetes by reviewing processes" , 21 May, 7.30pm, Prince of Wales, Ham Hill

• Learning Organisation Approval Process: Some of you will have heard of the organisation approval process, as all PCNs in Somerset are now either working towards this or have been approved. We thought we would provide background for those people who are not familiar with it. Traditionally, without the approval process, practices have needed to engage with colleges or universities directly and seek approval for each learner type. As the variety of learners and numbers of learners has increased over the past few years, this has become less easy. Where there is a “ Organisation” approved site, practices across a primary care network (PCN) footprint are able to accept all learners (clinical, administration, management, including apprentices), with the ability to supervise between practices. Somerset Primary Care Training Hub currently has a project officer to help PCNs to complete the process by the end of 2024. • South West Community & Primary Care Nursing Research and Innovation Conference, 26 June 2024 still has some spaces left, they would love to see nurses (or AHPs) working in these areas come along and get involved in research, no matter where they are in their career. They welcome non-medical staff from general practice, community teams, hospices, health visitors, school nurses, prisons and justice, out of hours, community hospitals, homelessness services and anywhere else where the staff don’t work in large acute hospitals. • General Practice Nursing Celebration Event - This year, the new event is for both Community Nursing and General Practice Nursing. The event will be held in the evening of the 16th September at Sandy Park in Exeter, and we attach here a nomination form to be disseminated to both general practice and community nursing providers to nominate your nurses who deserve to be recognised. There are so many excellent nurses and nursing team members, in the South West, let’s recognise and celebrate them. • Southwest Primary Care AHP and Nurses Workspace - Sent on behalf of Lily Dixon, South West Primary Care Academy First Contact Practitioner Education Lead  I Would like to invite you to join the "Southwest Primary Care AHP and Nurses Workspace" on the Futures NHS platform. In my role within the SW Primary Care Academy, my aim is to establish a centralised hub for clinicians seeking updates on events, funding, and educational opportunities in the Southwest. This platform eliminates the need for multiple email lists, providing a convenient one-stop destination.  If you would like to be added to the platform you can do so by filling in this MS Form  This platform is open to all primary care clinicians who might be interested so please feel free to forward on this email or MS form.  It's crucial to remain engaged with local training hubs to seize opportunities and receive updates specific to your ICB. These hubs serve as invaluable sources for local opportunities and should be utilised for professional growth and development.
