Confederation meeting The LMC Executive met with two members from each federation on Tuesday evening this week to share some of the innovations and collaborative work that is going on across the patch and to talk about how informed practices felt about Somerset together, other items on the agenda included the re launch of SPH, a media campaign to attract GPs into the county, we will circulate a full report over the coming week.
PCSE and Practice Payments We have raised the lack of medical record collections and deliveries to practices with NHSE and Capita, and have also raised the lack of payments to practices as an urgent matter with NHSE, we will update you all as soon as we get some news.
Practice Nurse Toolkit Fourteen fish offer a 15% discount on their Nurse Revalidation system to all nurses in somerset This brings down the cost from £15 to £12.75 including VAT.
This can be further reduced as the numbers who use the system increase, please see the flyer for further information

Somerset Partnership launched the NEWS observation chart earlier this year. This is the National observation chart, that is already used in Musgrove Park and Yeovil District hospitals, so may already be familiar to you. It is more sensitive to patient deterioration. Of particular note is the variance column on the back, where acceptable patient-specific parameters can be agreed and documented.
Additionally, they have updated our sepsis proformas to include ‘Red Flag Sepsis’ in line with national guidance. These include the actions that are appropriate in each clinical area within Sompar.
