LMCs Buying Group: The summer edition of the LMC e-update is now available here. There are a number of key changes that practices need to be be aware of.
Home delivery of medicines and appliances during the COVID-19 outbreak: The Medicines Delivery Service for self-isolating patients was commissioned from community pharmacies and dispensing doctors in March 2020 and commissioned until 30 June 2021. The DHSC has now announced the medicine delivery service will be extended until 30 September 2021.
Read the letter on home delivery of medicines and appliances during the COVID-19 outbreak, which explains that to help provide support to people who have been notified of the need to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace, the Community Pharmacy Home Delivery Service and the Dispensing Doctor Home Delivery Service will be extended from 1 July 2021 to 30 September 2021 for anyone living in England who has been notified by NHS Test and Trace to self-isolate
C the Signs submission: Somerset CCG are offering all Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and Practices the free use of a new Early Cancer Diagnosis Digital Support tool called ‘C the Signs’ (CTS). To support practices in meeting the requirements of the Primary Care Network Directed Enhanced Service (PCN DES) 2021/22. Sign up this July.
C the Signs is a comprehensive clinical decision support tool for cancer management, recommended by NHSEI for early cancer diagnosis. It is integrated with the patient record on EMIS – making it easy to deploy onto PCs in September as part of a pilot being fully funded for three years by the Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon and Gloucestershire (SWAG) Cancer Alliance. While rollout is done remotely practices will need to have:
- Registered their PCN/practice before 30th July 2021
- Signed a Data Processing Agreement
- Signed up to complete a training session
- Identify a C the Signs Champion(s) for your PCN
Training sessions will run throughout August and September. To register your interest and to book a place on one please contact: Tanisha.greenwood1@nhs.net.
Somerset emotional wellbeing hub: How can we best support you?: The Somerset health and care system has come together to create the Somerset Emotional Wellbeing (SEW) Colleague Resilience Hub to support you with all of your mental health and wellbeing needs.
The SEW Colleague Resilience Hub is a website, a colleague support line, a podcast series and has provided Thinking Pitstops, REACT training and access to the Shiny Minds app since launch. Please can you complete the brief survey at the link below to let us know what other support you would like us to provide for you or your team? The survey closes at 5:00 PM on Tuesday the 20th of July they would really love to hear from you.
