Dementia Training Videos for Primary care: The South West Mental Health Clinical Network have produced a series of short training videos, aimed at GPs, on dementia, view the suite of videos here these have also been posted to the LMC website here.
PCN Service Specifications survey: We are repeating this item as it is vital to get as many responses as possible by the closing date of the survey on January 15th. NHSE&I have published draft PCN service specifications and an accompanying survey asking for feedback. GPC England will engage with NHSE&I in negotiations on the service specifications in the coming weeks and this will be influenced by the responses to the consultation. Therefore LMCs have been asked to circulate the link to the survey to practices and clinical directors and to encourage them to make their views known as soon as possible. Please see Somerset LMC commentary on the specifications here.
Managing your resilience: 13th February a full day for all practice managers and their deputies, a day mixed with presentations, group work and some fun to lighten the load and shore up your resilience booking details here.
Applications for the next Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA) Programme starting w/c 13th April 2020: Are you looking to develop and/or sustain your Nursing workforce? Have you considered Nursing Associates as part of the Practice Nursing Team?
Please see the advert for GP Practice HCAs and Health Care Support Workers to apply to the next TNA Apprenticeship programme. The course is being delivered in a slightly different way to the previous programmes in as much as the education is being delivered out of the UWE Glenside Campus in Bristol and not out of the Bridgwater & Taunton College campus in Taunton. Therefore Students will be required to travel to Bristol one day a week on a Wednesday, possibly for the duration of the 2 year course, however there if funding available from Health Education England towards mileage / travel costs and funding support for placements.
