- Assistant Practitioner & Nursing Associate Apprenticeship Development in General Practice
Rapid Response Service: We have been asked to remind you of this new service set up to allow patients to get assistance within a few hours when they need extra support to stay at home when hospital assessment is not required. Details were in the last LMC Newsletter. Contact is via Somerset Primary Link.
Children’s Social Care: We have been asked to tell you that the form requesting information for case conferences has been simplified and an EMIS version is being prepared. Please remember that medical terms, initials, acronyms and jargon is not likely to be understood by the clerical staff who process them. Medical record print outs are not suitable as they will probably contain extraneous information and so may even breach confidentiality.
DWP guidance on completing medical reports: The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has published guidance for doctors who are involved with the benefit system. There is also more specific guidance which has been designed to offer support to GPs when asked to provide information on behalf of their patients and help clarify the various different benefits and processes involved. We continue to liaise with them.
Assistant Practitioner & Nursing Associate Apprenticeship Development in General Practice: 5th December 2018 13.00-16.30. This workshop, organised by Bridgwater & Taunton College working in collaboration with SCEPN, is designed specifically for Practice Managers and General Practice Nurse Leads who are intending to, or considering employing Trainee Nursing Associates and/or Assistant Practitioners.
Kind Regards
